Ah ok sorry for my interpetration error ^^. Yep is true, airmines as short range weapon are awesome ^^.

That's one of the few times when rockets are useful.

What I'm saying is to really increase their range (at least double that of the airmine), but also their speed (and maybe rate of fire). Right now I don't think they're that hard to aim, just lead (aim in front of) the other ship, faster rockets will make it easier to aim though, and longer range gives more incentive to use them over mines. And I'm not saying lower their precision a lot, but at their longest range they shouldn't be spiraling so perfectly straight.

Also, where are my old airmine sounds .

Agreed, Doobie; I actually liked how the rockets were in the very first release, they had long range and complimented the cannonballs well. I always wondered why LC nerfed them so badly.

Agreed. I liked the long range rockets as they provided a nice progression in range ammo: Rockets > Cannonballs > Flames, with rockets being the easiest to block due to their velocity and straight trajectory.

i dont think flamer range should be nerfed much, about 20% should do, but you should lower its damage a lot (aprox 40%). my favorite strategy lately is rushing with a cog (solo) into flamer range and burn the enemy and i think this should be the role of a cog, but at the current situation i manage to do it too easily without taking enough damage, so making the rockets faster should really do the job because after all, they are ROCKETS, so they should move faster than a cannon, and should be used for hunting agile flamer-cogs or fleeing ships.

Cogs are cannon fodder for any semi awake crew and with a few competent airminers they have no chance.

    EDIT
Lowering the damage so epic side to side boarding battles happen would be sweet though.

what about removing flamers altogether? this way there will be more side to side battles, and cannon battles, which are the main features of the game.

You do have a point with this. But many players like the flamer, and sneaking flamer attack is one of the most efficient and coolest ways to use the Cog. I'm fairly certain the flamers are here to stay, but some balancing might be done to them.

i think that allowing flamers for cogs only is the best thing, this way we will have both sneak cogs attacks, and epic side to side battles with battleships.

Removing flamers from battleships would mean that battleships would have harder time to take down ships very close to them: like the small cog who is flaming them!
